Sewer Jetting

One of the services we perform for all of our customers in the north east is sewer jetting. It is important to note that you should only have to pay for this service if the sewer is your sole responsibility and under your care. This is usually the case with private sewers, or those that haven’t been handed over to the national water grid or are disconnected from it. Otherwise, the water company or civic authorities will take care of this.

Either way, sewer jetting always follows the same fundamental process; inspection, washing, aftercare.

Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, SR6

Initially provided me with an estimated time scale and kept me informed fully as to eta. The operative attended to site and again kept me up-to- date with progress and final outcome. Can’t praise Kwikflow enough. Well done everyone concerned.

Professional Sewer Jetter Service

First, as is typical, we will inspect the area of sewer that we are going to jet. This way, we can be sure there are no structural issues in the sewer pipe that jetting could exacerbate. We’d also want to make sure that we get the full length of sewer pipe to take care to measure it out so we can bring the right equipment. Finally, we have to tailor the pressure of the jet wash to the material used for the pipe. Plastic pipes will normally require a lower pressure wash than brickwork or concrete as plastic pipe walls are normally thinner and can be broken through by the jet pressure.

Next, we will perform the actual jet wash. As mentioned, this is a high-pressure water washer that shoots water into the pipe and its walls in order to dislodge anything that may be stuck to the walls. These include debris, silt, sand, fat and grease, any tree roots that are growing into the pipe, and anything else that may be not draining through. The specific type of nozzle we will use always depends on the circumstances of the pipe and its diameter, but generally, we’ll use one that has a jet at the front, and some at the sides facing backward.

This enables the washer to propel itself through the pipe, as well as tackles debris from all angles, making sure to clear all of it out. The pressure we use for these jets is also of course, tailored to the material used in the pipe lining.

The fantastic thing about our sewer jetter service is that the water is recycled! This makes them better for the environment, as well as more efficient as we do not have to keep manually topping up the water from an external supply. The water from the jet washer is collected at a point downstream and separated from any debris. This water is then reused in the washer. Any rubbish is collected and disposed of in an appropriate manner depending on the mass.

We honestly believe that our team at Kwikflow is one of the best out there to do this work for you. Not only do we collectively have decades of experience jetting sewers, we also have the tools and equipment to do it safely, efficiently and with great value for money. Get in touch with us today to see how our friendly team of technicians can help you out with your sewers.
